Rolla Chamber of Commerce hosted a ribbon cutting on Nov. 18 to celebrate Small Business Saturday, accompanied by an official proclamation read by Mayor Lou Magdits.
This annual nationwide campaign, held on the Saturday after Thanksgiving, underscores the critical role small businesses play in our community and economy.
Small businesses are the heartbeat of the U.S. economy, representing 99.9% of all businesses with employees. Over the past 20 years, they’ve been responsible for creating 55% of net new jobs and currently employ 45.9% of the private sector workforce.
Here in Rolla, small businesses are a cornerstone of our local economy. In 2024 alone, the city issued 1,304 business licenses, including 733 within city limits. These businesses collectively provide an estimated 1,750 private sector jobs, driving growth and improving the quality of life for everyone in our community.
Join us on Small Business Saturday, Nov. 30, to shop local, show your support and celebrate the businesses that make Rolla thrive!
